Reports of a shooting at 2:30 p.m......one hour and a half after lunch is over at 1PM.

Two things....

Either there was a woman co-worker who had lunch time sex with a male co-worker and the shooter -  Larry had a crush on the woman (or possibly on the male - can't really tell now a days) and was full of jealously and decided to kill them both after they got back from lunch time sex.

Or.....

The dude is a Muslim Convert and wanted to start off Ramadan right by killing the infidel.

The Afternoon prayer for Muslims is called Dhuhr 

How long is Dhuhr prayer?

20 min.

The time interval for offering the Zuhr or Dhuhr salah timing starts after the sun passes its zenith and lasts until 20 min (approx) before the call for the Asr prayer is to be given. This prayer needs to be given in the middle of the work-day, and people normally make their prayers during their lunch break. 

The time for the Dhuhr prayer in Bryan, Texas is 1:27 PM 

The Dhuhr lasts about 20  minutes.

The prayer would have been over by 2PM.

The shooting started 2:30PM

So after the silent prayer was finished - the shooter- Larry - went back to work and starting shooting his co-workers at about 2:30 PM.

There is a Mosque not too far - the Islamic Community of Bryan-College Station. 

Or the guy was obsessed with a female co-worker who was having lunch time sex with another guy..
